K.A.A.N
The Less Fortunate
[Intro]
A number of homeless people on the street and in shelter across the US increased significantly this year
That's according to review by Wall Street Journal
Ending assistance programs put in place during the pandemic is contributing to the rise
Talk to us about what you discovered in your report

[Verse 1]
Land of the free, home of the brave
Live with the fees, die with the slaves
Work for the cream, minimum wage
Money or the dream, what did you say?
Debit, credit, get it, predatory, lеt us spend
And n***a never pay a dеbit
Not enough to pay a rent
America's caged, the games we play
[The truth might sting, the banks okay?]
[?, but not to bait?]
Just let my brain [surround?] your brain
Grab a umbrella, stormy weather
Never let out, bet your bottom dollar
What is said and done, this shit okay I-
All the flashin' lights are shinin' bright
But what's beneath the surface of your sight?
Insanity, the nature of this plight
Humanity, the dangerous, fight or flight
There's good or evil then there's wrong or right
So who's to blame despite [?]
Eyes bigger than your appetite
The streets filled with death not life
New addictions, new afflictions
You can see it all up on your television
No direction, no acceptance, codependence
Stalling at the intersection
Drug addicts, war vets, lost souls
They in need of intervention
Or just more attention
[Interlude]
My colleague, John Camp, and I found that the number of homeless people counted, on streets and in shelters this year, umm, across numerous cities and regions, is broadly higher than it was in the past years
And if the tread we observes, observed, holds true, the US could see a sharper clien-, climb in homelessness this year than in recent years when they were smaller reported increases

[Verse 2]
We got too high, the cost of living
So you're better off dead or in a prison
Ponzi scheme, the dream within the system
Poverty or wealth, the cost of vision
The gap between this dream for citizen
The banks they billing out with privilege
The streets are filled with peeps that [?]
The politicians play the middleman
But never really [?]
[They've never made progress?]
Financial [?] tango
Unchained like Django, unhinged, on the fringe
Tryna purge and binge
Might just go commando
Took a stroll, walk straight
From the suite to my bando
Swing low, sweet chariot
And let faith carry us, to the [?]
Cause the block is hot with no cops
No space is save, it don't stop
On the nightly news you can watch
Some people at they lowest moment
Pass judgement and atonement
All 'cause the man was homeless
Do you know what home is?
Home is a state of mind
Home is the feeling of love in these crazy times
Home is the place we can go
When it's dark outside and there's little sunshine
Home ain't the tax brackets
Home ain't the straitjacket
Home ain't the cold casket
Home is a place where there's peace [?]
Not the place you stay to inhabit
So whether it's Calabasas or Skid Row
It's still home
[Outro]
[?] gang
I'm 21
21? What about your girl?
18
What's your guys' current situation right now?
You guys are homeless?
Yeah
