Family Rules
Morning comes sooner than we wanted
Sister's screaming the house is haunted
Baby's crying and milk is gone
I just don't know how we ever go on

Breakfast's ready and we wake the neighbor
Daddy's got a date with the local paper
Price is up but trading's down
Coffee's bitter and the eggs are brown

I know it might sound sad
But it's not so bad
I still think my family rules

Start the car with the fuel on empty
We don't need much even though there's plenty
Of bills to pay and floors to mop
I just wish we could make the whole thing stop

Work day's done while we still got dinner
We get thick while the kids get thinner
It's ten o'clock, it finally ends
And eight hours later get to do it again

I know it might sound sad
But it's not that bad
I still think my family rules

We've got twenty minutes left
Before the kids get out of bed
Let's remember just how good it feels
To sleep

I still think my family rules
I still think my family rules
I still think my family rules
I still think my family rules
I still think my family rules
